Midlands Branch, The Cheapside Hoard by James Gosling

The Cheapside Hoard, part of a Jacobean Goldsmith's stock in trade, was found under a cellar floor in Cheapside, London in 1912. In 2012 a centenary exhibition is planned and at the present time a new excavation is being carried out on the site. James has completed extensive research and written on the subject for the GA Journal. 

Monthly meetings take place on Fridays in the Earth Sciences Building at the University of Birmingham, Bristol Road, Edgbaston, Birmingham, B15 2TT. Tea and biscuits from 6:30pm and the meeting commences at 7:00pm. Admission fees are £4 per Gem-A member or guest and £3 for fully paid-up Gem-A students.
