Blended and on-site learning (London)

If you live in or near London, or want to spend time in a vibrant and thriving capital, then on-site study is for you. Studying at our headquarters, you will be located near Hatton Garden, London’s historic jewellery quarter and the heart of London’s gem and jewellery trade.

Blended learning

The blended learning courses combine the advantages of online education with on-site tuition. The courses start with a distance preparation section that can be studied anywhere in the world.
This leads to on-site face-to-face seminars and practical tutorials at Gem-A’s London headquarters. This intensive fast-paced learning method covers both the Foundation and Diploma parts of Gem-A’s famous gemmology course. The on-site portion of this course consists of daytime tuition and study sessions, held three days a week for five months.

On-site learning

Our flexible on-site courses are perfect for those who want to live in London and work towards achieving their diplomas as quickly as possible. Evening classes are suitable for those working in the gem and jewellery trade who want to fit studying around work commitments.

Students who study on-site are able to see and test a wide variety of gem materials under the guidance of experienced Gem-A tutors, as well as benefitting from access to a student study room and regular practical lab classes. A range of on-site one-day courses provide students, members and the general public with the opportunity to expand their studies and interests. To find out more, click here.

Visa information and attendance

Any non-UK residents wishing to study any of our on-site courses must have a UK visitor’s student visa or proof of UK residency.
Please note that a minimum of 80% attendance is required for all on-site students.
